REEL and CLAAS have been partners for over 10 years and share a common mission to further develop innovative and reliable antenna technologies that are capable of increasing efficiency and productivity in agriculture on a daily basis.
The CLAAS Group, headquartered in Harsewinkel, is a leading family business in the agricultural sector. Founded in 1913, CLAAS has developed into a European market leader in the combine harvester sector over the decades. However, the portfolio encompasses much more: modern tractors, powerful forage harvesters and a wide range of other agricultural machinery represent the company's innovative strength and technological expertise.
As a pioneer in agricultural technology, CLAAS combines tradition and progress. Continuous development and adaptation to the needs of agriculture make CLAAS an indispensable partner for farmers worldwide. In addition to the high quality and robustness of its machines, the company attaches great importance to efficiency and sustainability in order to meet the challenges of modern agriculture.
With a strong focus on research and development, CLAAS is constantly setting new standards in the industry. Close cooperation with partners and customers ensures that the products always meet current requirements and are often even ahead of their time.
As a fourth-generation family business, CLAAS remains true to its values and cultivates a corporate culture based on trust, commitment and long-term relationships. These values are reflected in the outstanding quality of its products and the relentless pursuit of innovation.
In large agricultural operations, farmers have to overcome very specific challenges when it comes to general communication. Reliable and efficient systems for controlling agricultural machinery and monitoring agricultural processes are essential. Intelligent antenna solutions are the indispensable basis for the transmission and reception of signals and the creation of networked systems.
REEL antennas have been installed on various CLAAS agricultural machines for over 10 years. In line with our motto of building exactly what each customer needs, CLAAS demanding requirements and REEL's high standards create a climate of innovation that constantly inspires us and motivates us to achieve new heights in our antenna technology and cable assembly divisions.
Agriculture is one of the most innovative sectors of industry. The antenna technology used must always be up to date, trend-setting and sometimes ahead of its time.
For this reason, REEL's antenna solutions are developed to meet the specific requirements of CLAAS agricultural machinery.
REEL antennas are used in particular for M2M communication in order to perfectly coordinate the operation of the various machines. In addition to the antenna technology, robust and reliable installation and protection against external influences such as water and dirt also play a decisive role in ensuring reliable communication.
M2M communication (machine-to-machine communication) refers to the automated exchange of information between devices, machines or systems without human intervention. In agriculture, M2M communication enables efficient networking and coordination of various agricultural machines and devices.
By using antenna technology, such as that offered by REEL, tractors, combine harvesters and other agricultural machinery can communicate with each other. This communication enables more precise control, optimized workflow planning and improved resource utilization. For example, tractors and combine harvesters can exchange information about their position, speed and work status in real time in order to better coordinate their tasks and increase efficiency in the field.
M2M communication is therefore a decisive factor for modern, networked agriculture, as it helps to increase productivity, reduce operating costs and improve environmental compatibility.
In particular, the increased physical requirements in the agricultural machinery sector provided the impetus for the further development of today's roof housing. An innovative and patented housing with bayonet lock was developed. This offers a stable solution against physical influences (e.g. hanging branches) on the one hand and a high protection class (IP69K) against the effects of the weather on the other. To ensure a uniform appearance of the CLAAS machines and vehicles, there are clear specifications for the color design of the antenna housing that must be met. In addition, the large number of different applications should be represented by the smallest possible number of antennas in order to limit the already large number of variants. In short: CLAAS receives customer-specific antennas that are precisely tailored to the applications.
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for wireless broadband communication that enables fast mobile Internet connections and is used in particular for data transmission in rural and urban areas.
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) comprises various satellite systems such as GPS, which enable precise positioning worldwide and are used in many applications, including agriculture and navigation.
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is a technology that enables wireless network connections, allowing devices such as computers and machines to communicate with each other within a limited area.
There are a number of tangible benefits that farmers can enjoy by using REEL antennas on their CLAAS machines:
